When life gives you lemons......make LEMONADE!!!

I love the way my sweet hubby gets the family involved in tasks and chores. Most the time I just think it's easier to just do it myself so I don't go to the effort to get everyone involved. But, that's what family is all about, right? Doing things together. Living life together. Going through the motions together. And, it never ceases to amaze me how much fun everyone has when it's all said and done. Sorting socks? I loathe it! I tend to save them all up in a big basket, dreading the task of matching them together.Lee calls it a game, brings in all the kids and makes a contest out of it. Socks are mated, folded and put away in no time. And now, when I do fold socks the kids say, "Mom! You played the game without us!"

Today's task: picking our lemon "crop" and juicing it all. Quite a task!

And these weren't even all the lemons from one tree!

Lee created an assembly line.
First, Carson sorted through them lemons and picked the ripest ones to put into a basket .

Next, Bryson cut them in half.

And then, Lee would juice.

We put all the juice in quart bags and freeze it. It takes us all the way through until next year!
Lemonade, lemon bars, lemon pie, lemon muffins......hmmmm, what other recipes can I use lemon juice in?

The best part? Enjoying the first cup of fresh squeezed lemonade!

We didn't help with the labor but do we get to help enjoy the lemonade? Looks like lots of fun:}
