The caboose

My baby turned 4.
He insists he is almost 18.
(he's only been in my care 4 short years, is he that eager to leave already??)

He is elated because he is about to turn into a baseball player.
(he believes that happens at age 6)

He is not excited about doing chores now.
(See story below.....)

Camdon approached me several weeks ago and out of the blue said, "Mom? Remember when I lived with Jesus before i came to live with you?"
"Well, he said, "i didn't want to come live with you."
"But, Jesus made me."

Truly heartbroken, i asked, "why?"

He said, "because I knew you would make me do chores."
"you don't even do chores," I pointed out.
He said, "when I'm 18 I will?"
"Nice try. Probably when you turn 4."

The morning he turned 4, we woke him up singing happy birthday, he rubbed his sleepy eyes and said, "i'm 4?"
"Do I have to do chores now?"

Happy Birthday, little man!
We'll try to go easy on the child slavery labor....
