Yesterday the heavens opened briefly and the angels dumped all the rain they've been saving up for the last month by the buckets.
I have never seen so much water in such a short amount of time, it was coming down in SHEETS!
After driving pass this park next to our house several times during my afternoon taxi-ing, i came home and announced that we were going to play football in our new lake.
My responsible children said,
"Isn't dinner ready?
"I have homework."
"I have so much reading to do tonight."
"Mom, pack mtg is tonight. And, don't you have curriculum night at the school?"
But alas, their irresponsible mother said,
"Who cares?"
"Dinner will still be here."
"Homework shmomework. It's the first week of school."
"Haven't you been to pack mtg before?"
"I've been to two other 2nd grade curriculum nights, I think we'll figure it out if we miss tonight."
So we called some neighbor friends to meet us for football and had a great time enjoying the aftermath of an Arizona monsoon.

Whew! Got that out of my system, now I'll recommit to being a responsible parent. :)
